If you don’t, somebody else will run in your place, and they will win, and then we will only have your apathy to blame for the state of our city’s economic and cultural health. No pressure.
Count me in to work on your campaign.
Heck, I’ll recruit the volunteers now, just step up to the plate please.
Sadly, I cannot agree with you regarding the Jama scenario. It may have been a hard pill for a newbie politician to swallow, but you simply can’t come out to the media and take a personal stand on volatile international politics fifteen minutes after having had it explained to you by your party’s leadership that you absolutely cannot publicly speak out against your party’s official position before they themselves have yet to solidify what that is. Then after agreeing that you will not speak out, turn around fifteen minutes later and do the exact opposite and not expect any ramifications. This only speaks to their immaturity and lack of political savvy. This is definitely not someone that we want representing us. Not yet.
While I absolutely respect and support any individuals right to speak out against injustice wherever they find it, and would honestly lay down my life to guarantee them their right to do so, an elected official in a democracy must speak for the people that put them in office. They are the voice of those that put them there.
If they feel strongly otherwise, they absolutely must withdraw from their public position and only then speak out as an individual.
So run for Mayor already.
Please.

Thanks for the rant, and stop dreaming.
Run for Mayor already.
…🤔 have you ever considered provincial politics?
I hear there’s an opening in Hamilton.
